History of Stained Glass
The art of stained glass dates back to the 7th century, when it was first used in churches and cathedrals in Europe. The vibrant colors and intricate designs of stained glass windows quickly became popular, and the technique soon spread to other countries.
During the medieval period, these types of windows were often used to tell stories from the Bible or other religious texts. In the Renaissance, glass artists began to create more complex and realistic designs, often inspired by classical art.
Today, stained glass is still used in churches and other holy buildings, but it has also found a place in modern architecture. These windows can be found in homes, offices, and public spaces all over the world. Thanks to its beauty and versatility, stained glass is an art form that continues to thrive.
